A day in Oxford

After a two hour drive from the airport (at least that is what they said...I was sleeping) we arrived in Oxford, where we will be based for the next few days. This is where John Wesley went to college and where he later served as a fellow (sort of a teaching assistant). This is a very old and still a very academic town. The buildings are beautiful and the students are doing final exams. We went to Blackwell Books (the largest and most comprehensive book store I have ever been to). After this, we had lunch at a small cafe. After lunch everyone was ready for a nap, but I had caught my second wind and went exploring. I decided to take a run through the town and see the sites that way.

This evening, we all attended a end of the year garden party for the faculty and students of Manchester College (at Oxford). After the party, we all had dinner at a pub...fantastic fish and chips! Tomorrow we are off to Epworth for the day. It is the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley. Will post more then....

For now....time to catch up on some sleep. As I write a group of students who have finished exams are singing loudly outside the window! End of the semester!

God's Peace!
